Young reserve side go to Silksworth

The reserves will be fielding another young side when they go to Silksworth in the TWR Wearside League on Saturday.

When the reserves played Richmond last weekend, the average age of the team was less than 20, and that’s very much the case again for their away trip to Silksworth.

Joint manager Mark Fanning said; “We’ll have a very young squad again. The average age last week was 18.5, and I don’t think it will be much different this week. Nevertheless, the lads are still gaining some good experience.”

Reece Greenwood, Richie Parrel, Jack Harrison, and Mick O’Connor will all be missing, so Harry Gill and Keith Coleman will be called up from the Under 18s, while there will be a debut for midfielder Lewis Richmond from Accrington.

There are five games left for the reserves, two of which are against Silksworth.
