Quakers are hoping to make up for lost time when they face Blyth Spartans in the north east derby tonight – and it could turn out to be a thriller!

Quakers lost their opening home league game of the season against Curzon Ashton, but there have been two very encouraging performances since against Spennymoor and Brackley, that have amassed four points.

And with Blyth having battered Chester 8-1 last Saturday, then there’s a thriller in store tonight.

“We want to make up for the first home game of the season,” said Tommy. “I want us to build on the last two matches, and put a real show on for the fans. I want to win this game, and really build up some momentum.

“I always look forward to each game, none more so than this one, because I don’t think they’re going to defend and look for a draw, and we’re set up to attack – so it should be a really good game. It will be a great game for the fans and the neutrals.”

Tommy’s only selection dilemma appears to be whether to recall Ben O’Hanlon or not to the starting line up as the full back has completed his one match ban.

“Blyth will pose a different threat to Brackley because of their pace, so I need to decide which way I think we should play, and whether I should change the team.

“It’s a pleasant dilemma in some ways, I must admit I’ll probably only make my mind up when I tell the lads an hour or so before the game.”

If Quakers win tonight, then they will go up to 8th in the table.

Blyth, who have one win and two defeats from their games so far, will include former Darlo players Peter Jameson and Ian Watson in their squad.

Kick off on Wednesday is 7:45pm, updates on the game will be made from the club’s Facebook, Twitter and Website. Live Commentary will be broadcast from Darlo Fans Radio from 7.30 pm onwards
