The club would like to warmly thank all the 300 Darlington fans who travelled to Eindhoven for the weekend game at PSV De Jong.
Your enthusiastic support certainly helped to make it a weekend to remember, especially with the loud appreciation of the players before and after the game at De Herdgang. Many players, as well as the management team, were surprised at how many fans had travelled to Holland for the game, not just from England, but also from other European countries and made themselves heard.
The whole weekend was fantastic from start to finish – those who were there will never forget when Darlo played in Europe!
Manager Tommy Wright said; “The weekend achieved a huge amount. We gave a great account of ourselves with a positive performance against a full time team on a 4G pitch in 80F degree heat, and we strengthened the bond between the squad and our supporters. Our new players and our supporters got to know each other better in a very nice city. We also made lots of new friends, and we received some very good compliments. I’m so pleased that everyone enjoyed it.”
Quakers’ next friendly is at home to Middlesbrough on Saturday, kick off 1pm.
