Reserves hope to bounce back tonight

The reserves hope to bounce back from Saturday’s defeat at home to Silksworth when they go to Gateshead Leam Lane in the TWR Wearside League tonight.

The lads lost 4-0 at home to Silksworth last weekend, which joint manager Mark Fanning admitted wasn’t one of their best performances of the season.

“Quite a few things were wrong at the weekend, so we’re hoping to put them right tonight,” he said.

“We made mistakes all around the team, and were too weak. One or two players looked as if they weren’t ready for this level.

“We’re looking for a big improvement tonight, we can’t have another bad performance.”

Keeper Matty Bancroft will probably be added to the squad after being on duty with the first team.

The lads are now ninth in the table with four matches remaining. Tonight’s opponents are two places and ten points behind them.
