Our five match unbeaten run came to an end on Saturday with a disappointing 2-1 defeat at home to Boston United. The result saw us slip to 13th in the table, however, other results meant the gap between ourselves and the bottom three remains at six points.

Salford kept their three point lead at the bottom of the table. Carl Piergianni scored the only goal for the Ammies at home to second bottom Gainsborough on the stroke of half time. The result leaves Trinity five points off safety with time running out.

Harrogate still have their hopes of winning the title after a crucial 2-0 win away at York. Jake Wright gave Town the lead early in the second half with former Quaker Mark Beck sealing the victory. City remain in the final playoff place but are only two points ahead of Chorley who have one game in hand.

Brackley Town’s title hopes have taken a blow recently, but they were able to win 2-0 away to Curzon Ashton on Saturday. Shepherd Murombedzi and Adam Walker scored the goals in either half for Brackley who are 11 points behind Salford with two games in hand. Curzon remain outside the bottom three only on goal difference.

Kidderminster Harriers took a big step towards confirming their playoff place with a victory at Blyth to dampen the Spartans own top seven hopes. Mark Croasdale and Emmanuel Sonupe scored a quick fire double in the second half for Harriers, with Sean Reid’s late strike for Blyth being just a consolation. Harriers are fourth, eight points ahead of Chorley who are just outside the playoffs.

Stockport made it six league wins in a row with victory at bottom of the table North Ferriby to keep them fifth. Jason Oswell and Matthew Warburton put County two up before Lewis Collins pulled one back for the already relegated side. However, Warburton scored his second to seal Stockport’s 3-1 win.

Spennymoor also took a big step towards the end of season playoffs with a comfortable win at Alfreton. Nathan Lowe put Spenny ahead before Glen Taylor doubled the lead just before half time. Nyal Bell pulled one back for the hosts, but Taylor scored twice more for the Brewers to complete his hat-trick and seal a 4-1 win.

Chorley are just two points outside the top seven with a game in hand after a victory at struggling Telford. Alexander Newby and Marcus Carver scored the goals for Chorley as they won 2-1, Elliot Newby scored late on for Telford. The hosts are still in the bottom three with six games left.

Tamworth and FC United of Manchester met in a huge game at the bottom of the table with both sides looking over their shoulders prior to kick off. However, it was FC United who did their hopes of survival the world of good as Craig Lindfield and Gerard Garner both scored in the last five minutes to give them the 2-0 win. They are now six points off danger, while Tamworth are only one above the drop.

Leamington also will still be fearing the drop after defeat at Bradford Park Avenue. Adam Boyes scored the only goal of the game inside the first minute. The Brakes are three points ahead of third bottom Telford.

Southport and Nuneaton both had spells in the bottom three of the league this season but should be just about safe now. However, it was Nuneaton who came out on top on Saturday, with Daniel Nti scoring the only goal of the game on 26 minutes.
