The Board of Directors is delighted to announce that David Watson, who is currently match day secretary, has been appointed to the role of General Manager at the Club, on an entirely voluntary basis. David is not seeking appointment to the Board of Directors.

David, who will continue his match day secretary duties, is extremely well experienced in semi-professional football with excellent contacts and he understands how our club works. He is also fully aware of the strong family and community ethos we are trying to develop.

Chief Executive Officer Dave Mills said: “We are delighted that David has agreed to join us in this capacity. He has held many official roles at Northallerton Town in the past and he brings a wide range of relevant skills and operational experience to the Club and will be a valuable addition to our team of Club officials. This role is entirely voluntary and encompasses day-to-day management, support and advice for a variety of the Club’s off field functions."

David Watson added: “I very much look forward to expanding my current volunteer role and I am enthused by the Club’s ambitions and I feel fortunate to be able to provide support and help to the Board at this time. These are exciting times and Darlington FC is well positioned both on and off field for future success and my focus will be primarily to support the Board of Directors off field operations and help deliver on the undoubted promise that exists.”
