After a long anticipated wait Darlington and Deerness finally met and the game did not disappoint.

As has been the case all season Darlington started strong, and the first five minutes were tight with both sides asking questions.

The game opened up late into the first half and Darlington got the break, Logan Williams finishing off into the bottom right corner. The goal gave Darlington the momentum, going into the break.

Deerness got a great chance just beforet he break but keeper Zach Judson was able to deny the striker, not once but twice as he was able to keep out the second effort with another top save.

The half was not finished there. After Deerness fought back, Harry Lambert was able to snatch another before the break.

The early stages of the second half saw Deerness have chances to come back into the game with corner after corner. And again keeper Zach kept the ball out with a point blank reaction save. The ball was swung into the Darlington box and eventually dropped to the opposition striker, and he shot towards goal. The young shot stopper was able to get his body in the way to keep the ball out the goal.

With great defending and goalkeeping the attackers were able to really turn on the style, Harry Lambert and Charlie Cole enjoying the majority of the possession.

As a result of the attacking strength, the goals begun to flow. Harry Lambert scoring a second half hat trick to add to his first half goal. Lewis Coleman managed to get his second goal for the club, with a tidy finish in the box.

Overall an outstanding performance and probably the best of the season. From front to back, a very solid performance. Man of the match went to keeper Zach Judson.
