Quakers scored twice in the last 10 minutes to grab a deserved point at Aggborough.

It was a pulsating game, and what stuck out was the never-say-die spirit of the Darlington players to come back from 3-1 down. They were a complete contrast to last week's 3-0 home defeat by Brackley, and they had the 200 Darlington fans in the crowd cheering loudly.

It was just the sort of performance that Quakers wanted after a week of ups and downs.

In a 3-5-2 formation with five changes from last week, Gary Brown was involved early on, and didn’t show any of the ill effects of his head injury that has kept him out of the team in recent weeks.

Composed start by Quakers, and they had the first shot on 8 minutes, when Stephen Thompson picked the ball up 25 yards out and struck a low shot that Brandon Hall saved.

Then Thompson popped up on the right and put in a good cross towards Saunders tha ta defender just managed to head away.

Quakers look a lot sharper than they did last week

Kidderminster had their first chance on 14 minutes when Elton Ngwatala broke into the box on the right, sidestepped Galbraith and fired into the side netting.

They took the lead a minute later when Pearson crossed from the right, and Andre Brown stole in and touched the ball past Wilczynski.

Quakers nearly levelled on 23 minutes. Turnbull lofted a free kick into the box, and there was a big scramble which ended with Gary Brown turning and having an effort blocked on the line.

Quakers had another chance on 31 minutes. Collins helped on a Turnbull free kick for Brown to control ten yards out and force a good save out of Hall, and Galbraith from a tight angle, fired across the face of goal.

But Kiddie went 2-0 up on 37 minutes, when Ngwatala crossed low from the right for McQuilkin to squeeze a low shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Quakers must have wondered how they were 2-0 down after a promising start.

Quakers got a goal back on 44 minutes. Cartman chestd the ball down well for Saunders to sprint down the left and pull back into the middle, where Joel Taylor, under pressure from Cartman, put the ball into his own net.

McQuilkin put a free kick high over the bar and Andre Brown shot well wide, before Ngwatala got a goal out of nothing, when the ball ran to him inside the box with his back to goal, and beat Wilczynski with a left foot shot on the turn.

Two subs by Quakers on 61 minutes Portas and Thompson off, Gillies and Caton on,

Kiddie nearly got another as Quakers pushed up looking for one back, McQuilkin pulling a shot wide.

There was a hold up in play as the ref came to the touchline for treatment holding his hamstring. Memories of Darlo v Warrington!

Quakers made their third sub, Syers coming on for Cartman on 78 minutes, and that was the signal for the start of the fightback.

Quakers pulled a goal back on 80 minutes when Collins hooked the ball into the box from the right for Galbraith to come charging in and head into the top corner.

Kiddie then had Tyrone Williams sent off for an off the ball incident which involved several players and took the ref a few minutes to sort out, Saunders was booked at the same time.

Collins came off briefly for treatment for a facial injury, Quakers down to 10 men as well.

Galbraith crossed from the left as Quakers went for the equaliser, but Syers couldn’t quite reach it.

Quakers deservedly levelled on 89 minutes. Gillies curled a corner over from the left for Syers to head powerfully home from six yards. 3-3!!

The drama continued, the game went end to end, and there was even a train of thought that Saunders was shown a second yellow card for a foul but not sent off, but Turnbull was booked.

All in all, a terrific fight back for a deserved point.
