Under 8s Feethams win 4-1 away from home

Report by Martin Williamson

Scorers: Williamson, Martin, Ward, Theaker

Man of the match: Oscar Thornber

Sponsor: Webster Developments

Darlington played a very good footballing side today but Feethams put in their best performance of the season.

The game was played on a small, tight pitch and the boys played some brilliant football but found themselves one nil down after a few minutes. The boys never let their heads go down and played with their normal high intensity play.

Every single player ran their hearts out for each other and were awarded a penalty just before half time which Alva Williamson calmly slotted home, taking the boys into the break level.

The second half started and the boys were playing some brilliant football and got their reward for this when Kai Martin finished off a great team goal, that was started at the back from the very impressive Oscar Thornber (MOM).

Mason Theaker, who made some outstanding saves, then scored from his own box and Harry Ward added a fourth goal to put the game beyond doubt.

All 8 boys including Jack Cameron, Riley Singh and Jenson Golightly were magnificent and for the first time I didn't have to give a team talk at half time in both games as everything the boys were doing was perfection.

I received a text message from their manager on the way home saying what a great football match we had just played and what a great advertisement for kids football it was. Couldn't agree more.

DFC Quakers Under 14s 3 Gateshead  1

Report by Steve Cotterill

Darlo u14 entertained gateshead in a critical game in the battle for second place in the league.

Darlo started the brighter and Daniel Adok was unlucky to see his shot pushed on to the bar by the Gateshead keeper.Darlo forced corner and got the breakthrough when Ciaran Dixon’s corner was met at the back post by Thomas Lea. Darlo went 2 up after another great corner from Ciaran Dixon went straight in off the keeper.

Gateshead pulled one back just before half time after a foul on Matty Cotterill in the Darlo goal went unpunished and the Gateshead striker put the ball in.

HT 2-1

Darlo came out quick in the second half and the pressure paid off when Kai Wright linked up well with Sam Connolly before Kai hit a great shot in off the post for 3-1 . Connor Brown came close to making it 4 when his shot came back off the cross bar. Gateshead kept pressing in what was a very competitive game but Darlo kept them out. Mark Gent was man of the match after stepping in at centre half due to injuries and put in a commanding performance .

Darlington Under 13s 2 Polton 0

Report  by Mikey Weston

Darlington started really well and pressed every ball, Darlington should have been 1-0 up but Jojo Crumpton just shot wide, Tyler Dickson made a great save to keep it 0-0,

We got a free kick, and Jojo Crumpton stepped up and put the ball in the top corner just before half time 1-0,

Ht- 1-0

In the second half,  Darlington’s defending was amazing from front to back. We kept pushing and man of the match Jojo played in Luke Connelly who beat 3 players and slotted home 2-0.

But another fantastic performance from our under 13’s.
