Darlington Under 18s just lost by the odd goal in nine against Spennymoor Town on Saturday.

Quakers went a goal up with a left foot volley by Dale Milburn from 30 yards. Quakers then went on to add a second through Joey Smith, who found himself one v one and he smashed the ball home from just inside the box.

Spennymoor pulled one back when a deflected shot fell into the path of their striker.

Darlo then went up the other end and Vinny Steele produced a wonderful cross which was headed home by Pete Balthazar.

The goals kept coming and Spennymoor scored two in quick succession by capitalising on some poor defensive mistakes. The hosts came out the better side in the second half and went 4-3 up, but Jamie O’Brien headed home to equalise only for Spennymoor to score another headed goal within minutes
