Swalwell Swifts 6 Darlington Youth Under 13s 0

DFCY Squad: Lewis Johnston, Tom Ord, Lewis Smith, Jermaine Ruddick, Spencer McCabe, Jack Harland, Archie Bruce, Ben Jackson, Kieron Sheldon, Alex Tweddle, Luca Hendickson, Charlie Harrison and Harvey Nichol.

The game got off to a slow start neither side making any headway in attacks, the game mainly played in the centre of the pitch. Swallwell started to find their passing game and started to pin Darlington into their own half, the defence holding tight. The lads tried very hard to contain the advancing attacks and eventually Swalwell broke down the hard-working defence line and made it 1-0. Chances came to both sides, Darlington's best chances fell to Jack Harland and new signing Charlie Harrison.

A magnificent save from captain Lewis Johnston came but a few minutes later Swallwell were 2-0 up.

Half time: Swalwell Swifts 2 Darlington 0

Swalwell came out fighting, counter attacked and 3-0. Luca Hendrickson came on for the injured Jermaine Ruddick and worked very hard on the right, trying to get something back into the game. Time and time again Lewis Johnston pulled off some fantastic saves, Ben Jackson battled hard in the centre of the pitch and Jack Harland running where ever he could to help out. Another two goals unfortunately followed and the lads were struggling to contain the big midfielder, who was winning everything.

Tom Ord came onto the pitch for the last 15 minutes to try and help his team out, clearly struggling with his knee injury, but showing determination. A final chance came to Spencer McCabe before he too asked to come off with an injury, Swalwell scored a sixth in the last few minutes.

Final Score: Swalwell Swifts 6 Darlington Youth 0
