Darlington manager Tommy Wright said that he was “very enthused” after his first training session with the players and staff on Tuesday night.

Tommy and assistant Alan White already had a good idea what to expect from the players after their display in the 2-1 win over Bradford PA on Saturday, and Tommy admitted that the first training session had gone very well.

“The lads were sharp, bright and enthusiastic,” he said. “We kept the positive vibes going from the win on Saturday, and we had a high tempo session, working on fitness and a few things. We’ll do some organisation work in training on Thursday, and touch on tactics as well for Saturday’s game at Blyth.

“Quite a few of the lads did some voluntary extra running afterwards without being asked, and that reflects the fact that they’re good honest lads.

“It was a good start to a good week, I’m very enthused.”
