Monkwearmouth Charity Cup preliminary round

Darlington Reserves 0 Annfield Plain 1

Darlington Reserves were unlucky to go down in their first home game in the Wearside League at Eastbourne.

Quakers gave everything they had, but couldn’t find a way past the Annfield Plain keeper, and they were knocked out of the Monkwearmouth Charity Cup to a first half goal.

Joint manager Mark Fanning said; “We deserved to go into extra time, but not to be. Their keeper pulled off three or four good saves. They had a lad sent off with 25 minutes to go, but we couldn’t break them down.”

Quakers’ next game is in the league at South Shields Reserves on Wednesday night.
