The reserves face a promotion chasing team for the third successive game on Saturday.

After narrowly losing to Boldon CA and Redcar Athletic in their last two matches, the reserves face sixth placed Sunderland West End at Eastbourne (kick off 2pm).

Joint manager Mark Fanning said; “The lads have been unlucky in our last two matches. We had a very good second half at Boldon CA, and the wind ruined the game at Redcar last week, but being unlucky doesn’t win you anything.

“But they’re working hard, and some players like Vinny Steele are playing very well at the moment, and we’re confident that we can beat Sunderland on Saturday, especially on our pitch, on which we’ve played well this season."

There could be three players from the first team involved: defenders Jack Vaulks and Eddie Ross, and forward Paolo Mendes, and Mark says; “They will add some strength and experience to the team.”
