Quakers are hoping to return to winning ways at Chorley tonight.

On Saturday we suffered our first away league defeat of the season, as we fell to a 2-0 defeat at Southport. Despite a promising first half showing we were unable to take our chances and were made to pay in the second period.

On the plus side captain Kevin Burgess made his long awaited return from injury in the centre of defence, whilst new signing Jack Vaulks came on for his debut.

Defeat leaves us in seventh place in the table in the final playoff spot. Chorley, who reached the play off final last season after taking our place in the play offs, have had a mixed start to the season and are in fourteenth place having picked up nine points from their first eight games. However, they did pick up a very impressive 2-0 win over York on Saturday, both goals scored in the first half by Josh Wilson. It was their first home win.

Chorley (5-2-1-2) Urwin; Challoner, Teague (c), Leather, Jordan, Blakeman; O'Keefe; Cottrell, Haughton (Whitham, 65); Carver (Hughes, 78), Wilson (Walker, 61). Subs not used: Jarvis, Kearney.

York City (4-1-2-3) Worsnop; Law, Parslow, Bencherif, Whittle (Sukar, 45); Smith; Newton (c), Heslop (Muggleton, 67); Morgan-Smith, Parkin, Rankine (Felix, 55). Subs not used: Wharton, Haswell.

Last season Chorley reached the playoff final before losing to Halifax. We picked up four points from our meetings last season. Early in the campaign we won 2-0 at Heritage Park, before earning a 1-1 draw at Victory Park in February.

Kick off on Tuesday is at 19:45, updates on the game will be made from the club’s official website, twitter and facebook.

Live Commentary will be broadcast from Darlo Fans Radio at 19:35 which is kindly sponsored by Tempest Jones.
