On Saturday we travel to rivals Salford City for what is our final game of the 2016/17 season.

Following the rejection of our appeal from the FA this week, it means we will unable to compete in the end of season play-offs even if we finish in the top five.

Depending on results we could finish the campaign anywhere between third and sixth.

Quakers are fourth in the table, and victory could put us third, if Halifax Town lose at sixth placed Chorley.

Salford are currently fifth, two points behind Quakers.

However, the game has a lot at stake for Salford who could also finish as high as third, but as low as seventh, the only position that would now see them miss out on the play-offs.

A point would be enough for them to guarantee a top six finish, as long as Stockport don’t win and overturn a goal difference swing of 13.

Saturday’s games involving the leading clubs:

AFC Fylde v Worcester, Chorley v FC Halifax Town, Kidderminster v Bradford PA, Salford City v Darlington, Stockport County v Gloucester City

We have had a well-documented rivalry with the Ammies over the last two seasons when both sides have achieved back-to-back promotions.

When we met earlier in the season two goals from Mark Beck helped us secure a 2-2 draw at Heritage Park.

Moor Lane has undergone a huge transformation in the last twelve months since we last visited However, our last trip won’t easily be forgotten, in one of the most dramatic games in recent years we came from 3-1 down to win 4-3 thanks to a late Nathan Cartman goal.
