Mark signed for Darlington in December 2012 from Northern League club West Auckland, for whom he played on the losing side in the 2012 FA Vase final. He had two seasons with Blyth Spartans between 2008 and 2010 when he played in the Conference North, and was also part of the Blyth team that reached the third round of the FA Cup in 2009 when they lost to Blackburn Rovers. After he signed for Darlington in November 2012, he became a regular and never finished on the losing side in the rest of the Northern League season.

He was a regular in the 2013-14 season when Quakers lost in the NPL First Division play off semi final, and the following season he played in the play off final, his only league appearance of the season because of the suspension of Peter Jameson. He joined Bishop Auckland in the summer of 2015, and then had a brief spell at Spennymoor in the EvoStik First Division North

He joined Quakers for the second time in the summer of 2016, and took on the role of goalkeeping coach.
