Adam joined Darlington from Harrogate Town shortly after the end of the 2014/15 season. A utility player whose best position is in the heart of midfield, but he can play anywhere on the pitch. he played in goal for Harrogate once and saved a penalty.

He played over 175 games for his former club becoming a fan favourite at the Conference North side. He made 37 appearances for Harrogate in his final season at the club.

He made his debut for Quakers up front on the opening day of the season, but suffered a fractured cheekbone which kept him out of the side for two months. When he returned, he scored on his home debut against Mossley in the FA Trophy.
