The undated photograph, taken from The Northern Echo archives, was most likely taken in April 1966 when there was late snow fall.

It was in consecutive days that month when Darlington played promotion rivals Doncaster Rovers, winning 3-2 at Feethams on the 11th but losing 6-3 the very next day at Belle Vue.

A month later the teams finished level on points at the top of Division Four, both were promoted with Darlington finishing second on goal average.
