In our summer series, we're looking back at the Pics from the Past that were used in our matchday programme during the 2017-18 season.

Premier League clubs were, in the season just ended, sporting sponsors’ logos on their sleeves for the first time, though it is now 14 years since Football League clubs were permitted to carry a sponsor on the back of their shirts and shorts, an opportunity Quakers took at the beginning of the 2004-05 season.

Darlington Building Society, the club’s front-of-shirt sponsors from 1997-2010, had their logo on the rear of Quakers’ kit, and pictured launching the agreement are, left to right, David Copland of DBS, Neil Maddison and Leandro Scartiscini and commercial manager Bob Gorrill.
