Darlington striker Nathan Cartman lifted the goal of the season award at the club’s awards night at the Mercure Hotel in Darlington on Saturday night.

Carts finished off a great move involving several players against Tamworth to earn him the award, with David Ferguson’s thunderbolt v FC United of Manchester coming in second.

Mark Beck, who scored 18 league goals last season,  won two awards – the Player of the Year award voted by the fans (and by some considerable distance too) – and the Players’ Player of the year award.

Youngster Harvey Saunders was voted the most improved player of the season.

Glen and Mary Bowes were very popular winners of the Harvey Madden award, for all the hard work that they put into the club by organising the supporters bus and helping in Quaker Retail amongst many other things.

There was also a special presentation made to Dr Steve Charlton, who is retiring after 31 years in his role as club doctor.

Many thanks to Joanne Cameron for organising the evening.
