Darlington Football club have today agreed the transfer of Adam Mitchell to Spennymoor.

Adam joined Quakers from Sunderland near the end of the 2013-14 season, and made 109 appearances, scoring 14 goals. He has played in both midfield and at right back for Quakers, but he has been unable to gain a regular place this season. He is the last Darlington player to score a hat trick in a home game, doing so against Prescot Cables in March 2015.

With us, he won a NPL First Division North play off winners’ medal and an NPL championship winners’ medal, and starred in the memorable 7-1 win at Whitby that clinched the NPL title. His most memorable goal was arguably the one he scored direct from a corner against Stamford at the Brewery Field in the tense run in to the end of the season.

We would like to thank Adam for his terrific service to Darlington FC, and would like to wish him every success in the future.
