Martin Gray v Stourbridge

Darlington manager Martin Gray says that everyone is remaining positive as he looks ahead to the away game at Stamford on Saturday.

Quakers have been frustrated by three successive Saturday home postponements, which has meant that they have lost some ground on the leading teams. After Saturday’s game against Rushall Olympic was postponed, Workington took advantage by swopping places with Quakers and are now fourth.

“Having these games postponed is frustrating, but we just have to get on with it,” said MG, who was forced to postpone a Saturday friendly against a Northern League club because of high winds.

“A load of preparation goes into the games, but then the bad weather takes it out of our hands.

“But we must remain positive, and look forward to the next game. We need to be focussed on our game in Lincolnshire. We will be having an intense training session this Wednesday, we’ll be doing more this week than last week because of missing a game last Saturday. We’ll also be having a training game.

“I want to make sure that the fitness level of the players is high, and we’ll be leaving no stone unturned in preparation.”
