Frank Tweddle looks back to Darlo games over the years. Today it's the Fourth Division game between Reading and Quakers on September 4th 1971.

Reading 2 Darlington 0, Division Four, Attendance 5,336.

We had just beaten Hartlepool in our second away league game of the season when we had to travel again, this time further down to Berkshire in order to face Reading, who had just dropped out of the Third Division for the first time ever in their history. Colin Sinclair, our new signing from Raith Rovers, was injured and so Peter Carr returned for his second game after featuring at Southend in our opening game of the season.

We held out until half time but conceded two second half goals from Gordon Cumming and Les Chappell to give the Biscuitmen their fourth consecutive win and put them top of the table.

Darlo team; Wealands, Peverell, Horner, Carr, Barker, Lees, Sproates, Hale, Gauden, Graham, Harding.
