The Darlington FC badge means so much to so many and was fought hard for during the purchase of the club, but on some occasions this brand or badge is being diluted, to detrimental effect to the club and the image it strives to maintain. It must be stressed that only individuals or groups who have obtained written approval from the Board of Directors, are permitted to use the DFC badge in any way.

The Club is currently undergoing a brand and image re-fresh off the field, and the Board of Directors are determined to begin a process of standardisation of the club brand image, and ensure the existing club badge remains the strong focus of what the club is about and remains consistent across all departments and official affiliates of the club. This standardisation will tie in with a branding refresh for all official club documentation, season tickets, hospitality and other releases from the football club.

We are grateful to Andrew Long, the club's volunteer graphic designer, who has been overseeing the branding and image refresh on behalf of the Board. Andrew said, "This refresh and standardisation across all areas of the club will give a clear, consistent and professional image of our football club, based on the existing badge, and will only strengthen our famous brand even further ready for our move back to Darlington".

The standardised social media icons have already started appearing across many of the clubs official and affiliated accounts and this will continue over the coming weeks. In addition to this keep an eye out for the new branding concept cropping up, as we approach the new season, for other official club news and releases.

In addition to the branded items released by the club, there will also be a branding guide, issued for anyone who has approved use of the DFC brand and image, which will again help to keep things consistent and instantly recognizable.

Thank you for your continued support.
