Darlington Football Club wishes to appoint a suitably qualified and enthusiastic individual (or team of individuals) to represent DFC’s on match days as Hospitality Manager, providing catering and hospitality to a combination of corporate partners and fans.  This appointment will be effective as soon as possible and we require individuals who will work to maximise the DFC brand and further embed the football club within the heart of the local community.

As such, this presents an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate(s) - who should also be able to demonstrate personal drive, initiative and excellent interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate(s) should ideally be able to commit to the position for a minimum of 10 months – this is a volunteer role, however all out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed. The club would be happy to provide future references for the successful candidate.

As well as planning and organising the club’s Catering and Hospitality service prior to all match days, the successful candidate will liaise with the Board of Directors to ensure the achievement of its customer service objectives.

Key accountabilities of the Hospitality Manager

  • To deliver the budgeted costs in both Catering and Hospitality services
  • To work closely with the Chief Commercial Officer in maximising match day offerings and service
  • Develop the small team of volunteer helpers in improving the standards of operation and delivering excellent hospitality
  • Manage the DFC match day caterer and liaise closely with the caterer before each home game
  • Ensuring first class presentation within the hospitality environment
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and the provision of a safe working environment

Working Hours

Match days only: There are approximately 25 match days in total between August and May. Most match days are on Saturdays, although several match days are likely to be on Tuesday evenings.

  • Saturdays 11.00 – 18.00
  • Tuesdays 16.00 – 23.00
