Darlington head to Rushall Olympic on Saturday for their final game of the season, having sealed the league title and promotion on Thursday night at Whitby Town.

The  7-1 victory on the seaside was the perfect end to another quite remarkable season for Darlington Football Club.

The reverse fixture between Darlington and Rushall Olympic took place just over a month ago at Heritage Park, with captain Kevin Burgess scoring the only goal of the game for the Quakers.

Rushall go into the final weekend in 11th place in the league and are guaranteed to finish in the top half of the league table. Rushall have won nine of their home league games this season. However, they lost their last four league games, including a 3-0 defeat at Blyth Spartans on Tuesday night.

Their captain is the former Quaker Kris Taylor, who is fondly remembered for staying at the club, during the 2011/12 season.

Blyth Spartans host Marine at Croft Park in their final game.
