Feethams teams up with Darlington FC for media sponsorship

The property development company behind the exciting new Feethams entertainment and leisure scheme in the town has announced it is teaming up with Darlington Football Club as the club’s new media sponsor.

Simon Hawkins, Development Director with Urban & Civic, made the announcement in the run-up to the grand opening of Feethams – the weekend-long ‘Feethams Fest’ - this Saturday.

“Feethams was of course the spiritual home of Darlington FC for more than a century,” said Simon, referring to the club’s former ground and namesake of the new entertainment development. “For us to be able to lend our name to support the club in our first year is both an honour and a privilege.”

As media sponsors, Feethams will have a significant presence in the club’s programmes, website and other outlets for its matches in the Vanarama National League North as well as at the ground itself, and will work closely with the club to develop the profile of Darlington’s new multi-million pound leisure scheme amongst fans with a range of exclusive offers, competitions and give-aways already lined up.

“Feethams was conceived with a view to playing a central role in the wider Darlington community,” said Simon. “Darlington FC is a club which means an awful lot to this town and is steeped in heritage, and by teaming up and supporting them in this way we’ve already taken another step towards achieving that goal.

Richard Cook, Director of Darlington FC, said he was looking forward to teaming up with Feethams for the new season – and in time for the entertainment and leisure scheme’s grand opening.

“The town has been buzzing about the new development, which looks simply stunning,” said Richard. “We’re absolutely thrilled that we’ve been able to enter into a partnership with Feethams through Urban & Civic, and we’re hopeful that the club will be able to have a presence during the weekend’s Feethams Fest event."

Feethams Fest will mark the official grand opening of Feethams Darlington this Saturday and Sunday. Several events are planned over the weekend to mark the opening, and all Darlington fans are encouraged to come along to see what the new development offers.
